In the 1970s, Levi’s held a contest to judge what fabulous creations people could fashion by deconstructing their jeans and embellishing them. That decade was all about thumbing your nose at societal conventions, the government and mass marketing. Today, it could be said this trend is having a renaissance. Ripped apart and shoelaced back together, dyed and sewn into modern shapes or simply just intentionally shredded. Denim is back in a big way just as the political times are increasingly tumultuous. Coincidence or fake news?
