When you can’t find an evening gown to save your life (me), at least you can carry a cute clutch! This one from TheBrodieBride on Etsy is $68, can be personalized, has a mirror inside, fits a cell phone and makes me feel like Barbie. And it’s just one of several options you can choose, including different fonts and colors. Why should brides and bridesmaids have all the fun? One thing to note – the personalization is applied by adhesive, I’m pretty sure. There are definitely more expensive options in which names are created in the acrylic, but for as many times as you will carry a box clutch? Kind of makes more sense to go economical, in my opinion. Cute gift idea too right?

Oscar’s Best Looks 2019
I was kinda disappointed with the Oscar dresses last night! The ones the celebs wore to the Vanity Fair party were SO much better! Maybe it was because the entire night just seemed a little, blah. Can Jimmy Kimmel come back, please?
I did like the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper duet, although it was a tad scandalous in front of his model girlfriend? Here are my fave looks of the night. By the way, is it not annoying how perfect JLo is? She doesn’t drink, she doesn’t eat sugar, she always has one of the best looks of the night. She must have some vice!

When your team isn’t in the Super Bowl–and I’ll argue that Saints fans have it a lot harder than Cowboys fans like me this year–what do you wear? I offered to wear Rams colors and one very jaded person I know called me “soft.” So, that’s great. Instead, I like the varsity stripe look and I think it’s something every woman can pull off, plus the look is truly everywhere right now. Just type “varsity stripe” into the search engines of your favorite stores and you will have lots to choose from. Although, I may just try to find the most obnoxious Cowboys gear I can and wear that. They do make dresses with Jason Garrett’s face on them….I kid you not.

I’m so excited to see my favorite new shower luxury is now at Ulta! I’ve written about Rituals foaming shower gel and the brand’s all-out decadent, skin care products in the past on this blog. The stores are all over London and when you walk in, you are just transformed by the scents. Well now, you don’t have to order them, you can just high tail it over to the mall. Rituals offers several different lines, but my favorite is still the Ritual of Dao in the green packaging. It just makes the day a little less mundane when your skin smells like you are a Japanese princess. As far as “restoring balance to your mind and body,” can someone please tell me when you know you’re balanced? Kind of tired of that word…
Spring Blues
So, Lady Gaga may not have won Best Actress last night, but I think you can argue her dress was the one that grabbed most of the attention. And speaking of Golden Globes dresses, I totally agree with my friend H that the whole “drants” look that was popular last night is puzzling. I mean, is it so hard to choose one or the other, pants or dress? Well, Julia Roberts looked gorgeous, so whatever.
Anyway, InStyle magazine is naming Gaga’s baby blue hue as one of Spring’s big trends this year. Because you know, the minute after you celebrate the new year, all stores are ready to sell you spring. Yet, I have a much easier time embracing this over the other new “trend” this Spring – acid wash denim. Yep, it’s back. I can’t deal.

Trench Coat as Dress
Ever since actress Priyanka Chopra rocked this trench coat gown at last year’s Met Gala and the Duchess of Sussex wowed the world in a sleeveless Burberry trench dress this summer, I’ve been curious to know if this is a look that’s accessible for the masses. It’s what I do when the steady days of 100-plus-degrees have relegated me to yoga pants.
One search on Shopstyle.com (which by the way, everyone should do…so efficient!) answered my question. There are many affordable options of this look, which is a stylish alternative to the plain Jane dress–you can click on the store names below to go straight to the dress. Anthropologie carries my favorite version by Eva Franco, while Saks Off Fifth has a crisp, white Calvin Klein trench dress. Finally, Nicole Miller has a detachable crop top to help style this off-shoulder version.
Especially in the desert, the trench dress is a more wearable option than its long-sleeved, bulky big brother–which doesn’t have a chance until our three days of winter.
