Our household recently got a nice surprise – a shipment of delicious, desert-themed popcorn from Popped Artisan Popcorn, which is made right here in T-town! First off, I’m a packaging girl and the simple brown paper bags emblazoned with majestic saguaros won me over. The popcorn is also light and very flavorful! The small-batch, handcrafted popcorn comes in flavors like Mesquite Smoked Cheddar, Sweet Chili Lime, Mexican Hot Chocolate and many more. Let’s just say, the Prickly Pear Caramel and Mesquite Smoked Mezcal Caramel didn’t even make it one night before they were completely devoured. What a cool Christmas or holiday present to send someone?
It was at an outdoor engagement party for my friend Haley where I first saw Farmgirl Flowers a year ago. Wrapped in burlap, the beautiful blooms made the tables both stunning and rustic– the perfect vibe for the cute new couple. I asked Haley’s mom where she found them and she told me all about the company and how its founder, Christina Stembel, was the subject of a CNBC show about how she built Farmgirl herself from her savings!
To this day, Farmgirl Flowers is my go-to place to send blooms to friends and family for birthdays and thank yous and other special occasions! The arrangements are gorgeous and just look so much better than something you could find at a grocery store. The website photography is stunning and the entire order process is seamless and easy. The fact that its a woman-owned business makes it even easier to promote.
You can find out more about the company and order at www.farmgirlflowers.com.
It’s not a mysterious monolith in the desert, but it is a shade of amazing lipstick by Nude Envie, a new favorite find from social media. Founded by Isabel Madison in quest of the perfect nude lip, these lipsticks are infused with jojoba and Vitamin E and glide on beautifully. The shade pictured is Naked, and has a bit of a golden peachy hue, but still wears very natural. There are also many other shades that try to mimic your lips but better and provide a little glisten, as well. Priced at $30, Nude Envie lipsticks can be found at Amazon, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue or on her website, www.nudeenvie.com. A nice little stocking stuffer!
One thing uber-stylist Rachel Zoe does really well is the stylish, monochromatic suit. You cannot fail in life if you are wearing this suit! In fact, she has beautiful options on her website, shoprachelzoe.com, right at this moment in pink, navy and liquid silver. While they are stunning, they carry a price tag upwards of $200 for the blazer alone and at last glance, were well on their way to selling out.
If you want the same look for less, check out Boston Proper, www.bostonproper.com, for similar options that are roughly half the price. When this pandemic is over, this suit will rock your next in-person appearance! And until then, how about wow them with this look on your next Zoom call.
At last check, the jacket is close to selling out online, but the pants are not and Boston Proper says new styles will be added in the next few weeks. In the meantime, pair the pants with a satin shirt of the same color, like the Sophia Button-Up Charm Blouse. Monochromatic = Power.
Today, Posh Boutique is offering an amazing pandemic deal for shoppers. Grab a bag, fill it with up to 10 items (select merchandise) and pay just $20! I was just there yesterday and y’all, there are DVF and Michael Kors dresses for $2! Not to mention cute tops and bottoms. Racks and racks of deals that you can fill your bag with and spoil yourself! And while you’re there, you can check out some cute full-price items too, including new Louis Vuitton arrivals and an incredible lot of new silk scarves that just came in. Happy Saturday!
An epic 1988 movie, Heathers, showed the dramatic social power yielded by four beautiful high school girls–all named Heather, of course. Symbolically, the Queen “Heather” wore a large red scrunchie, which denoted the shift in power when tragedy struck each one.
Now, Target is offering an homage to the power scrunchie with these large $5 versions by Scunci. Available in different colors and satin and velour versions, they are a happy little find during these dark 2020 times. The perfect accessory for your next Zoom call! Find them at one of the store’s mini-kiosks set up around the store.
Madewell, the stylish brand that focuses on all things denim, has opened its doors in the spot vacated by Louis Vuitton at La Encantada…..and none too soon! The new digs are a welcome addition to Tucson’s most beautiful shopping mall, along with West Elm. In the company’s own words, “a good day starts with great jeans,” so Madewell focuses on everything to make you look hot in them — including tops, dresses, accessories and more. Madewell is the chief moneymaker for parent J. Crew, which is working to emerge from bankruptcy, so this store needs our support!
Though brick and mortar stores have reopened, the pandemic has truly made buyers rethink how they purchase clothes, as well as, almost everything else. Clearly, there’s no comparison between having beautiful outfits shown to you online while you drink wine and wear pajamas vs. driving on bad roads to a mall and smothering yourself in hand sanitizer before entering.
Enter two awesome Arizona boutiques that are gaining a lot of stylish momentum on Instagram and Facebook.
Four Halos Boutique and Cashmere + Coco Boutique are two of my friend Sara’s fave new online spots to shop. In fact, every time she wears anything from these two boutiques, she always gets compliments and is a big supporter of them – as she is for everyone! Run by hardworking women, these are two cute places to check out online.
With tragic new headlines every day about stores closing their doors — Lord & Taylor, SteinMart, Century 21– Charming Charlie has launched an online comeback after declaring bankruptcy and having to shutter doors a few years ago.
My family and I first fell in love with Charming Charlie stores in Texas, so when the store opened a location in Tucson Mall, it was the place to go for cute clothes, accessories and gifts. The store’s color-organized clothing also made it really easy to find outfits for football games. You’d be seriously surprised how difficult it is to find CUTE RED CLOTHING for Arizona football games in this town. (Not that I have to worry about that this year – 2020 slowly killing me…)
But anyway, check out the store online! Some very cute clothes, good prices and even the masks are unique!
Winky Lux, the campy cosmetics brand founded in 2015 by two friends, is a nice little surprise at Target stores these days! The fun brand known for its flower petal-infused lip balms used to be purchased only at Nordstrom and other high-end boutiques, but now is widely available to our T-town masses. According to the brand’s website: “Winky Lux was born with the idea that since every beauty product is technically a little gift, from you to you, it should always look and feel as special as the person receiving it (who is also you).” Genius!
